The department of Physics was established in 1975 to conduct B.Sc. Physics program. The vision of establishment of this department is to provide a platform for dissemination and creation of knowledge of physics through teaching and learning for tribal area students. The mission of this department is to explore the functional and realistic aspects of the subject and to develop life skills through value-based education.
In the history of 48 years, the department has grown considerably with a vision to inculcate physics temperament in students. The intake capacity of the department is 20 students at B.Sc. – III Level. The department emphasizes mostly on experimental learning and tries to increase the learner’s participation in the process of teaching. The department has well equipped laboratory. All the faculty members always have taken active participation in research work. The strength of our department is its devoted faculty and innovative flexible curricula. To aspire and strive for excellence the department consistently conducts various academic activities along with social awareness activities like e-waste awareness ,tree plantation etc. At present there are six faculty members sincerely contributing their efforts for overall development of physics department.
