Department of Chemistry was established in 1974. Departments run various under graduate courses like B.Sc. I, II, III and M.Sc. Organic Chemistry (From 2020-21). Intake capacity of PG course is 22. In this department 07 faculties are engaged actively in academic and research work. Dr. Swati D. Jadhav recognized research guide of Shivaji University Kolhapur. Three students are working for Ph.D. degree. Department runs COC Skill courses.

This department is well equipped with specious laboratories. There is departmental library with rich collection of e- books. This department is well equipped with advanced instruments like digital polarometer, spectrophotometer, Coductometer, Refractometer, Potentiometer, digital balance, pH meter, and Colorimeter. Department organizes various students-oriented activities like seminar, workshops, webinar, field visit, projects, poster presentation, blended learning activity for overall development of students. Department conducts CIE like home assignments, tests, internal examination, mid-term examinations , Chem quiz, Viva etc for academic progression of students

On this occasion the Guest lecture of Dr. Ravikant Patil, Cardiologist, Sevasadan Lifeline Hospital Miraj was organized to aware the students and staff about to maintain good health on15th Sept. 2017.
The department has organized the demonstration of fire extinguisher to create the safety awareness and handling/operation of the extinguisher on Tuesday 21/01/2020
One Day Training workshop on Job opportunities in Chemical Industries on Saturday21st December 2019 as a partial fulfillment of certificate course in Analytical Techniques during the academic year 2019-20.
The department has organized Chem.-Quiz competition ‘On the occasion of International Year of Periodic Table (IYPT 2019) in co-ordination with IQAC.
