S. M. Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe College Miraj was established on 21st June, 1965 and is named after the founder of the institution Shikshan Maharshi Dr.Bapuji Salunkhe.

The name of the Institution is Shri Swami Vivekananda Shikshan Sanstha, situated in Kolhapur and was founded by Shikshanmaharshi Dr.Bapuji Salunkhe in 1954. The President of our Institution is Hon. Prin. Abhaykumarji B. Salunkhe. The Secretary of our Institution is Hon. Prin. Mrs. Shubhangi Gavade and Joint-Secretary is Hon. Prin. Dr. Rajendra Shejwal

This educational institution is the second largest institution in Maharashtra that runs more than 365 centers imparting the educational & Cultural values of Late Dr. Bapuji salunkhe to spread primary, secondary and higher education in rural, hilly and urban areas of Maharashtra & Karnataka.
